Paul D. Lack was born on February 3, 1926 near Ridgley, Tenn. and enlisted in the Army in June 1944 at Camp Robinson, Ark. Following basic training, Lack joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Swift, Tex. where he was assigned to Company F of the 85th Infantry Regiment. He fought in Italy and returned to Camp Carson, Colo. at the end of WWII. In 2010, Lack was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for his service in Italy. From the description of Paul D.
